Fünftausend Mark

Original German 5000 Mark Reichsbanknote from 1922, issued during the Weimar Republic inflation period. This was real everyday money at the time, before the hyperinflation fully exploded into the millions and billions in 1923.

The front shows a portrait based on Albrecht Dürer’s merchant Imhof. Today it is demonetized and sold only as a historical collector item.

A great piece of early Weimar inflation money not yet the ridiculous “million/billion mark” (also available on Praporchik) , but already part of the economic chaos that made German paper money legendary. Perfect affordable history piece for collectors of German banknotes, WWI aftermath, Weimar Republic, hyperinflation, and old European currency.

It has that beautiful “serious banker paper before everything went completely insane” vibe.

Also 5000 Mark, it's quite alot of Mark.
