Original Grenztruppen der DDR senior officer's uniform jacket, complete with its original branch and rank insignia.
The bright green piping immediately identifies the Border Troops, while the massive silver braided shoulder boards with two gold stars identify the wearer as an Oberstleutnant — Lieutenant Colonel. Green was the Waffenfarbe used by the Grenztruppen.
The jacket is the smarter double-breasted officer pattern with six silver-grey pebble buttons, two lower flap pockets, full lining, green piping around the collar and elaborate senior officer collar tabs.
Basically: Not the guy checking passports but many steps above that food chain.
There are some minor age/storage marks visible, but overall this is a really handsome jacket
And unusually, the size is SK52:
52 = approx. Large / EU 54
SK = Sehr Kurz / Very Short
So: Large body, made for a short king
