An unusually elaborate French military ceremonial tunic, manufactured by Houssard S.A. in Avranches in 1999.
Made in the grey-beige Terre de France style and heavily decorated with traditional French military details: a sky-blue standing collar with embroidered gold flaming grenades, matching shoulder tabs, large gold sleeve embroidery, blue cuffs and a frankly excessive quantity of beautiful gold military buttons.
Fully lined and properly tailored, with seven-button front closure, two discreet front pockets, shaped waist, rear vent and decorative rear waist buttons.
The sky-blue facings, grenades and gold embroidery resemble insignia used by French military schools, including Saint-Cyr, although we haven't been able to positively identify the exact school or wearer. Rather than invent provenance, we're selling it simply as the genuine dated French ceremonial uniform that it is.
