The UBACS was designed to be worn underneath body armour: a lightweight, breathable tan torso underneath the vest, while the exposed shoulders and arms retain proper Irish DPM material and protection.

Ireland trialled its dedicated UBACS around 2012, subsequently introducing it into service.

This example has definitely done some work. Issued, worn and faded, but that's exactly why we're putting it out cheaply.

Construction is excellent:

quarter-zip high collar, lightweight stretch torso, Irish DPM shoulders and sleeves, large Velcro-covered upper-arm pockets, reinforced elbow/forearm sections and adjustable cuffs.

Period Irish UBACS documentation describes the arm sections as accepting removable padding and the upper-arm pockets as carrying large Velcro fields for insignia.

Basically everything you need from a combat shirt and absolutely nothing you don't.
