SDF was officially formed in 2025 during the Syrian Civil War. Multi-ethniuc coalition mostly formed of: -Kurdish YPG/YPJ -Arab militias -Assyrian/ Syriac -Local defense
They become internationally known for their role in fighting ISIS in Nothern and Eastern Syria, for example the battle of Raqqa (2017).
SDF used to be supported by an U.S- led coalition.
The emblem shows the region of Rojava / Nes. Yellow, green and red in association with Kurdish nationality.
