Dark blue stripes trace back to the Imperial Russian Navy, making this the original telnyashka color. Sailors wore it beneath uniforms for warmth, flexibility, and easy repair at sea. Over time, it became a symbol of life at sea, resilience, and service beyond land.
The shirt is traditionally made from cotton jersey knit, allowing stretch and airflow while remaining tough enough for daily wear. Under GOST standards 20462-87 , these garments were produced as regulated underwear items rather than outerwear functional first, iconic second.
Delivered will be an orginal Russian Telnyashka with cotton knit vertical stripes, not painted or from lesser synthetic materials as the more common ones flooding market.
