Before Nutella conquered every cupboard in Europe, Yugoslavia had Eurocrem.
The original Eurocrem story starts in Gornji Milanovac in 1970, and it became one of those foods generations across Yugoslavia grew up with. The manufacturer still describes it as a taste strongly associated with childhood throughout the former Yugoslav region.
Eurocrem Blok takes that familiar cocoa-and-milk cream combination and turns it into a solid 90g bar: dark cocoa side, pale milk side, hazelnut in the mix, maximum Balkan corner-shop energy.
What does it taste like?
Sweet, creamy, hazelnutty and somewhere between a chocolate bar and the Eurocrem spread your Serbian uncle attacks with a spoon.
Is it actually Yugoslav?
The current bar is made in Serbia by Swisslion-Takovo. Eurocrem itself dates back to Yugoslavia in 1970, so the nostalgia credentials are legitimate.
Can I eat it while listening to the Yugo CD?
This is why we imported it.
