Original Swiss Army Ordonnanz 1949 service tunic, introduced in 1949 and worn during the early/mid Cold War period before camouflage field uniforms gradually took over the dirty work from the 1960s onward.
Made from the wonderfully heavy, coarse grey-blue Swiss military wool these uniforms are known for, with a proper tailored and lined construction.
Four-button front with original Swiss Cross buttons, four external pockets two large pleated chest pockets and two lower pockets buttoned shoulder straps, open lapel collar and rear vent and metal belt support along the waist.
These examples have had their unit/rank insignia removed (or most likely never attached), leaving you with the unusually clean basic Swiss uniform.
Great collector piece, but also one of those military jackets you can actually wear without looking like you've escaped from a parade.
They seem absolutely unissued deadstock but i cannot confirm that.
